Federally Funded Modernization
Since 1992, through the funding of our 2002 Capital Fund Program, the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development ( HUD ) has been extremely responsive to Capital Improvements funding requests made by the Newton Housing Authority.
We have received nearly 5 million dollars in funding which has enabled us to provide renovations to our Parker House, Jackson Gardens, Horace Mann, and Norumbega Gardens Developments.
State Funded Modernization
The Commonwealth of Massachusetts Department of Housing and Community Development ( DHCD ) has also been responsive to funding requests made by the Newton Housing Authority.
The State program has provided funding for an essential emergency generator and building envelope/exterior project at the Hyde Apartment complex. State funding also assisted with a new sewer line to the group residence owned by the Newton Housing Authority
Funding from DHCD enabled the Newton Housing Authority to provide an exterior painting project for various and scattered site housing units as well as the Nonantum Village Apartments.
